Meet the Sisters

Leah Duncan

Education Committee, and Senior Send-On

I joined in the fall of 2014 and am so glad I decided to join Greek life here at RIT. Joining Sigma Sigma Sigma has opened up many leadership opportunities and many opportunities to help the surrounding community. My favorite part about being in this sorority is getting to know so many wonderful women and making friends for life.

Tara Gordon

House Manager and Violet Ball

When I joined Tri Sigma, I knew I found my home. I never saw myself in a sorority, but when I came to RIT I knew this was going to be different. Tri Sigma is full of beautiful, talented, intelligent , and accepting women and I am proud to call all of them my sisters. We are all weird and that’s what makes is so special. I felt like joined a group of women who just “got-it” and understood every sister on every type of level. I am happy I joined the chapter when I did.

Liv Gwynn

Risk Management, Social, Spring Retreat, and Anchor Ball

I joined Tri Sigma in the fall of my second year, and honestly I never could have seen myself joining a sorority prior to coming to RIT. But in my freshman year more and more women that I loved and respected were joining the Greek community here and I saw how closely connected family on campus, not just between each organization but all of the organizations. Joining Sigma was like stepping into a family that was ready to be there for you no matter what you bring to the table.

Parliamentarian and Awards

I joined Tri Sigma in Fall 2015 as a third year mechanical engineering major. I was looking for a group of women I could call my friends outside of my program. What I found instead is a second family, a second home, and a friendly face all over campus

Rebecca Hoogwerf

Spring Retreat and Fundraising

I joined Tri Sigma during the fall of my freshman year. I never thought I would join a sorority, but I am so glad I joined this chapter of wonderful women. Tri Sigma has exposed me to many leadership opportunities, community service projects, and more experiences in the RIT community.

Alexandra Hayes-Rossiter

Music, Sisterhood, and Spirit

I was initiated this past Spring of 2016 and already love my sisters so much. I’m honored to be a part of this lovely group of inspiring and empowering women, and so so excited to get to know each and every one of them better :) Looking forward to making a difference in the immediate community as well as with our philanthropy!

Erin Hoover

Communications, Music, and Honor Council

I joined Tri Sigma because I wanted to have a "sisterhood". I am the oldest child in the family and I have a younger brother. I felt that Tri Sigma was the best way to have a sisterhood, make new friends and have a family. Living few states away was hard, but I knew I will be fine now that I have a family here at RIT.

Abby Mandris

Music, Recruitment Committee, and Public Relations

I am a third year Visual Media Major with a minor in Film Studies. I joined Tri Sigma in the Fall of 2014. I went through Formal Recruitment and had no idea what to expect. I was lucky enough to find a home with Tri Sigma, and I have loved every minute since!

Annabel Peterson

Webmaster and Awards

I joined Tri Sigma in Fall 2014, I have met so many wonderful women who I have a lot in common with. I know I can always depend on them for support. I have also been given many leadership opportunities that have helped me grow and break out of my shell.

Indira Purushothaman

Risk Management and Education Committee

I love having a place where I can just be me. I joined Tri Sigma Spring of my freshman year and I have loved every second since. It's the best support system I could ever ask for! I never saw myself joining a sorority but I must say that the sisterhood is incredible and its an adventure every one must experience.

Hannah Schewtschenko

Social, Parlor, and Violet Ball

I joined Tri Sigma my first semester of my freshmen year because I wanted to find a strong group of women that would help me succeed throughout my college experience. Almost instantly, I felt accepted amongst my new sisters and found the home I was looking for. My sisters have made me want to be a better, student, a better person, and want to work harder within the RIT community. Taking on positions within Tri Sigma has helped me be more organized as well as work harder to advance myself in the chapter.

Hannah Stultz

Parliamentarian and Philanthropy

I joined Sigma Sigma Sigma fall of 2014, at the time I had no idea that all my sisters would have such an impact on me. My sisters have taught me so many things, they have helped me become a leader when I never thought that I could. I never thought I would see my self taking up leadership roles or organizing events but I have and I know I can now even take on those tasks by myself. I couldn't have asked for a better sisterhood.
